L’Alqueria del Pilar was originally part of an ancient Moorish farming estate, located on the outskirts of the village of Banyeres de Mariola in the province of Alicante. Although within walking distance of the village, it is surrounded by terraced corn fields and offers the visitor a very special and peaceful space in which to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the countryside.

Beyond the gardens and surrounding fields, are beautiful views of the mountains of the Sierra de Serrella and the Moli L’Ombria, from where the crystal clear waters of the river Vinalopó flow.

The farmhouse that today houses the apartments has been painstakingly restored, and retains many of its original features. Its exposed stone walls and wooden roof beams help to create a wonderful environment in which to relax and enjoy the peace of this very special place.

L’Alqueria del Pilar consists of a number of ancient buildings who’s exact date of construction is unknown, although it is considered to date back to the Moorish period. It’s sympathetic yet extensive restoration began in March 2006. In September 2006 the first phase of this project was completed, and now the original farmhouse offers four self-contained apartments, shady terraces, a swimming pool, beautiful gardens with barbeque area and a private parking area. It’s the ideal place from which to enjoy the beauty and peace of the countryside and mountains of Alicante.
